
Carl Wieman is a Nobel laureate, and is Director of the Carl Wieman Science Education Initiative at U.B.C. In the July 2007 issue of BCBusiness Magazine (subscribe now!) Mr. Wieman answered our question this way:
"More people having access to greater technology. I think there are already signs of serious issues, and it is just going to get worse. I don’t think it’s technology per se that is the problem; it just develops faster than people’s ways of thinking on that scale. How are societies and communities and people going to be able to make decisions to deal intelligently with such enormous power?”
