City of Richmond: Looking forward

Richmond has a knack for turning dreams into reality, thanks to a pro-business municipal government that constantly foresees opportunity, while maintaining the region’s heritage. For example, in a few short years Richmond has become an international hub for the high-tech sector with key players like Microsoft and MDA Corp., but it also remains a farming and recreational mecca. In fact, half of the municipality’s land area is open space, which includes B.C.’s Agricultural Land Reserve, parks, natural areas and so forth.

“Richmond is a truly diverse community,” explains Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “We have a wide range of industries located here, from high-tech to transportation, with the most diverse workforce in the Lower Mainland. Our location as the gateway to Asia makes Richmond a desirable location for both employers and employees.”
