Vice-president of Business Development, Sotheby's International Realty Canada

Is this your work look?
Yeah, absolutely. I usually try to keep it fairly simple. I’m not much for suits.

So bell-bottoms are in?
I wouldn’t call them bell-bottoms, [decide for yourself, reader] but I’d definitely call them wide leg. They’re Theory, and I picked them up recently at Holt Renfrew. They were around $300.

You’re not into the skinny pant, then.
No. I love it on other people, but I’m not necessarily a big fan of it on myself. I tried, but I never went there. I’m thrilled that it’s not skinny pants this year; I definitely love the high-waisted
trouser kind of look.

Tell us about your top.
It’s just a really lightweight silk and wool turtleneck that I got at Misch on South Granville. I’m a huge fan of turtlenecks. It’s my standby in a pinch.

Is it a recent purchase?

I think that was probably last year’s purchase. I don’t remember how much it was, but it wasn’t a cheap turtleneck. Just don’t ask me about the shoes – that’s when I start spending the
big bucks.

Now I have to ask, what shoes are you hiding under those big trousers?
They’re Alejandro Ingelmo that I bought at Holt’s this year. Shoes are definitely my weakness. I’m a big fan of the high heel. I caught on to high heels when I lived in Atlanta and I haven’t been able to break the habit.

Why is that? Are you vertically challenged?
I’m 5-6, so I don’t consider myself short. Some people feel naked without their earrings – I feel like I need my high heels. I really like to wear my heels. I think it makes the clothes look better.

Have you always kept such a streamlined look?
Actually, before I got into real estate my first career was in the garment business – I had a wholesale agency – so I was a bit of a slave to fashion. My ’80s look left a lot to be desired. My ’80s and ’90s were a little bit affected: big hair, lots of eye makeup – definitely not as simple as my current style.
