Senior vice-president and managing director, BMO (BMO) Harris Private Banking, B.C.

What can you tell me about what you’re wearing?
I don’t even remember the name of it. I have adopted a style that I feel comfortable in, and the labels really don’t matter.

Do you remember where you got it?

Marilyn’s in Caulfeild Village. I have been going to Marilyn for over 20 years. She has everything and can always find something to give an outfit flair.

Banking is considered to be a bit of an Old Boy’s club. Do you find it difficult to maintain a sense of femininity?
I am absolutely delighted to be a woman and I have never tried to hide it. In fact, in any of my outfits I always try to find something that has a feminine touch.

How are women in your industry expected to dress?

I think as a senior leader of the bank, one would be expected to appear professional, and people interpret that in different ways – especially in today’s environment as younger gals are coming on. I have always enjoyed wearing suits and I just feel comfortable in them.

How would you say your style has changed over the years?
I’m not sure it has. I’ve been going to the same few stores for many years. Though I was probably the first woman to wear a pantsuit in my law firm.

Do you favour a conservative heel or a high heel?
I used to wear really high heels and I’m just not able to do that anymore. But I am very much determined to wear heels even if sometimes I might have sore toes!

How would you describe your fashion philosophy?

I think the most important thing for me is to wear what suits me, which is not necessarily trendy. I would say I tend to be on the more formal side, but I do enjoy clothes. And I go to Winners too. I love bargains and I’m a very good bargain shopper.
