Well, Vancouver's mayoral politics are in a ferment at the moment. Last week, Peter Ladner deposed incumbent mayor Sam Sullivan to become the nominee for the Non Partisan Association (NPA), Vancouver's right-of-centre party.

And this morning, on Radio One, each of the three candidates vying for the left-of-centre Vision Party nomination—Gregor Robertson, Raymond Louie, and Al De Genova—argued for why he should lead the party into the election. They sounded similar themes: opportunity for the city, uniting people, lessening the blight of poverty on the Downtown Eastside, and evolving an intelligent plan for development and densification. In short, several issues of sustainability are on the table.
Recently, on one of our sister websites, BCBusiness Online, asked in a poll which man would be getting your vote for mayor. Sam Sullivan was still in the race then, and got 15 per cent of the vote, but Peter Ladner, with 33 per cent, took the blue ribbon.
Does this predict accurately what will happen in the autumn election? Hard to say. And, as a group, BCBusiness readers may feel differently than Granville readers.
So, the same question to you: Who's getting your vote for mayor? Please leave your choice—and, more importantly, your rationale—in the comments section below.
